Who we are
Ceardaí is a job board and CV database for the trades in Ireland. For data-protection purposes we are the data controller for the information described below. Contact us at hello@ceardai.ie.
What we collect
Everyone: your name, email address and password (stored hashed, never in readable form).
If you build a CV profile: your trade, experience level, years of experience, county, optional town or area, whether you have a car and a driving licence, anything you write about yourself, and a contact phone number and email.
If you hire: your company name, county, contact details, and the jobs you post.
We also keep a record of applications you make, jobs you save, and which businesses have paid to see your contact details.
Who can see it
Your CV profile — everything except your phone number and email — is visible to businesses searching the database, and to any business you apply to.
Your phone number and email are hidden until a business spends a credit to reveal them. That is how Ceardaí makes money, and we want to be blunt about it: a business pays for access to your contact details, and once revealed to that business they stay revealed. You are emailed when it happens unless you turn that off.
We do not sell your details to anyone else, and we do not pass them to advertisers or data brokers.
Cookies
We set one cookie: a session cookie that keeps you logged in. It is strictly necessary for the site to work, so no consent banner is required for it, and it is deleted when you log out.
We use no advertising cookies, no tracking pixels, and no third-party analytics that identify you. If that ever changes, you will be asked first.
How long we keep it
For as long as your account exists. Delete your account and your profile, applications and saved jobs are removed immediately.
A business that already paid to see your contact details may have recorded them elsewhere — we can delete our copy, but we cannot reach into their records. That is worth knowing before you publish a CV.
Your rights
Under GDPR you can ask for a copy of your data, correct it, or have it erased. Most of it you can edit yourself from your dashboard, and you can delete your account at any time without asking us.
For anything else, email hello@ceardai.ie. If you are unhappy with how we handle it you can complain to the Irish Data Protection Commission at dataprotection.ie.
Where it's stored
On servers in the EU (Ireland and Frankfurt). Email is sent through providers who process your address in order to deliver it.
